Happy Thanksgiving

Yesterday the Provincial Council and the members of the Province Center Household celebrated Thanksgiving together with a great meal. Our cook, Laverne, prepared the traditional meal in a wonderful way and Marvin provided the pumpkin and apple pies to top off the fabulous meal.

I cannot say it any better than our Provincial wrote in an email to the entire community:

We have a lot to be thankful for -- for each, for our community. The Lord always used meals for wonderful teaching moments -- we had wonderful moments at our meal (and Jeff caught some of them with his camera) and hopefully we learned a thing or two also! Tomorrow, if you share the Eucharist, let it extend into your own Thanksgiving and let us be grateful for all the blessings we continue to receive. As the traditional Holiday Season begins let us remember the reason for the season and experience the enfleshment of Jesus in one another and in those we are asked to serve and minister.

Today I concelebrate the liturgy with Fr. Joe Brown, CPPS pastor of St. Barnabas Parish in Alameda where I served as Pastor for seven years. It will be a delight to see old friends again. Then Sr. Anne, Fr. Gene, Fr. Marvin and I will head off to my sister's house and stuff ourselves with turkey along with Mom and Dad and nieces and nephews.

We have much to be thankful for. I pray that your day is rich with blessings.

Happy Thanksgiving!
