Gaspar in the Arts

Fr. Milton Ballor, CPPS has a great book called St. Gaspar in the Arts. It is a beautiful book and a real treasure. In the book are a collection of photos of St Gaspar portrayed in painting, sculture, statues, windows, and other assorted artwork.

Being in Rome has me swimming in art. There is so much art around that it is easy to fall in love with this place.

Today we took a tour of some of the St. Gaspar places. From the mosaics in the church where his parents were married, all the way to the the Church where Albertini and Gaspar began the Confraternity of the Precious Blood on December 8, 1808. we were surrounded by beautiful artwork. I had seen much of it in Fr. Milton's book.

If you want a copy of his book, send me an email and I will forward it to Fr. Milton, unless he wants to leave his email address in the comments section. I think I remember the book was $10.00, but Fr. Ballor can quote the correct price. (nope, I was wrong; the price is $30.00)

Fr. Ballor, I do not remember seeing this picture before. Is it in your book too?

Buon Giorno

So I pass this priest in the hall. He is Italian, and speaks no English.

I know enough Italian not to go hungry.

I say, "Buon Giorno."

He says, "Good Morning."
