A journal dedicated to the life and mission of St. Gaspar del Bufalo, and to a life lived in response to the call and the cry of the Most Precious Blood of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Our on-going mission is to share good news of hope and communion.

Holy Body and Blood

let us fix our gaze on the blood of Christ,
realizing how precious it is to his Father.

Letter to the Corinthians, Clement I

"Take; this is my body."

Now in this crisis and turning point in his ministry, in Jerusalem, the heart center of the nation of Israel, at a celebration with the twelve who are to personify and embody the New Israel, he identifies the bread which he breaks and distributes as his own Body.

His body, like the bread, will be broken to give life to those who participate in it. This cup contains all the suffering and blessing of life. No passive participation, this. We are invited to take and drink. We are invited to drink fully of his desire that all people be brought home to fullness of life in him.

By eating and drinking we become part of him and are drawn into his life, his freedom, health and wholeness. We participate in his struggle and his passion.

Our communion with him guarantees our participation in the new humanity desired by God, by which we are joined to the life and death of all people, if we take up our cross and follow our leader in being broken and poured out for others.
