Short Retreat

I have been a little slow at blogging lately, but the Christmas vacation has been great. I have been at a different friends or relatives house every night for the past two weeks. It has been great being at the former parish where so many people assure me how much they miss me. Now before heading back to Chicago, I had carved out a few days of quiet at one of my favorite places. I will be heading north Monday morning to Vina, CA to my favorite
Trappist Monastery until Wednesday. The Computer and the cell phone stay at home. Thursday morning I have a very early flight. Blogging will return on Friday. This is one of the ways I remain sane. I know that the ministry keeps me very busy, and it is often hectic, but I carve out time each day in advance, and some extended time each quarter in advance so that I am assured of some silent space just simply to be with the Lord. So prayers are appreciated, and you will all be hearing from me again on Friday (before I begin the drive to Ohio). And While you are offering prayers, remember Mark Armstrong, C.PP.S. who will be ordained to the priesthood next Saturday, January 4th in Ohio.
