A journal dedicated to the life and mission of St. Gaspar del Bufalo, and to a life lived in response to the call and the cry of the Most Precious Blood of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Our on-going mission is to share good news of hope and communion.

Well, I am back in Chicago. Traverse City was beautiful. This morning I concelebrated the Eucharist at St. Francis Traverse City, and afterward people who had memories of the CPPS missionaries introduced themselves to me. One had been baptized by a Precious Blood priest 50 years ago, one had graduated from our college in Indiana many years ago, and one family is related to one of our Missionaries in Guatemala. Our community apparently has connections all over.

Fr. Patrick Maher

Fr. T. Patrick Maher attended the Retrouvaille weekend. He is in training to be the Retrouvaille priest for the Gaylord Diocese. The weekend went very well, and there was much healing. Fr. Patrick seems to have the appropriate gifts for this ministry. The Gaylord Diocese is blessed to have such a priest.

I hope for many more opportunities to visit Northern Michigan. It is a beautiful place, and the people were very friendly. The snow was beautiful, if but a bit treacherous to drive in.

Tomorrow I fly to California, but this time I am taking the computer with me. It is very difficult to come from a place where ministry seems fruitful and I receive much affirmation and come back to a job where I receive little or none, but that seems to be the nature of formation work. I will be going to California for a Provincial Council Meeting, and for the Retrouvaille International Board meeting. There will be some difficult issues attended to in the next few days, but the camaraderie and community will be a gift.
