A journal dedicated to the life and mission of St. Gaspar del Bufalo, and to a life lived in response to the call and the cry of the Most Precious Blood of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Our on-going mission is to share good news of hope and communion.

This picture seems to be showing up everywhere. It was an absolutely beautiful sunset one evening this past summer at San Felice, Giano del Umbria, Italy. It was spectacular. I took nearly 20 pictures. This one has now been chosen for the cover of the USA CPPS address book, it was on the cover of the liturgy program for the North American Regional, Fr. Barry, our Moderator General will have the picture on the cover of his newest book, and it is on our International website. It might as well show up here too.

October 26, 2003 is also the 12th anniversary of my ordination to the priesthood. I will be spending that day completing a Retrouvaille weekend in Salt Lake City.

North American Regional

Missionaries of the Precious Blood, along with Companions and Amici gathered for the first of five regional meetings in preparation for the Extraordinary General Assembly to be held in Rome in September 2004.

Precious Blood spirituality as symbolized by the Cup, the Cross, and the Covenant, is a gift received to be lived, proclaimed and shared.

Flowing from our baptismal call, our spirituality is a unique and explicit charism rooted in the incarnation, shaped by the Word and celebrated in the Eucharist.

The Bond of Charity is reflected in our heritage and our hospitality, our attention to the needs of each other especially our sick and elders, and our willingness to embrace one another especially in our differences while striving to be a reconciling community.

Our identity as an international Society of Apostolic Life inspires and informs a global awareness and a spirit of cooperation.

As people drawn near through the blood of Christ, we value our communal identity as priests, brothers, sisters, companions, USC associates, and Amici.

Our Gasparian charism calls us to a Ministry of the Word for the renewal of the church and the reconciliation of the world.

Discerning the signs of the times, we are flexible and creative in responding to the needs of the church and world.

Sent by the blood and faithful to the tradition of our ancestors, we stand at the margins with and for the poor, the alienated, and the abandoned.

Believing the mission is the work of God to which we are privileged to participate, we value collaboration and mutuality in ministry.

It was a very positive, rich experience. There was much accomplished. As the final documents become available on the international website I will post them here. Click on the map logo above if you want to see pictures of the event.
