Comments down

The Comments function has been down for a bit. Here is what is reported on the Haloscan site:

We have found that the cause of the recent problems with the service were caused by a hardware failure in the database server. We are working to replace that server completely but in the meantime we have a backup loaded. No comments have been lost but we have temporarily disabled the posting of comments to the server until we have the database server replaced. Everything should be resolved and running by Tuesday at the latest. Sorry about the problems and thanks for your patience as we resolve this matter

Sometimes patience is called for. Blogger has been slow too. There was no posting yesterday morning.

. . .
Greetings from the peaceful Pacific coast. I am sitting in a retreat house near Santa Cruz, CA in a second floor room with a view of the ocean. The three day CPPS cluster of the Northern region began this afternoon. I am a little late because I gave an evening of reflection on Reconciliation and Precious Blood Spirituality in Newark, CA this evening. The Cluster is our quarterly communal gathering of CPPS members, not really a retreat but a time to rest, relax, enjoy one another's company and enter into conversations that matter, about the Gospel and the life we lead, but not really about work. It is only 11:00pm here on Monday evening, but since this blog is on Chicago time it will probably register being posted on Tuesday morning. I am not near a phone line. I am having fun transmitting this to the blog by cell phone. I will blog when I have a chance tomorrow. I will be here with this lovely view until Wednesday.
